Premarital Counseling
In any endeavor, dreams and goals not backed by concrete plans and preparations can result in failure. And marriage is no exception. In fact, without solid planning and forethought by engaged couples, we will surely see a continuation for the startling divorce rate among Christians and non-Christians alike. On the other hand, thorough premarital counseling and preparation can result in lifelong marriages that are fulfilling and God honoring. That’s were the church comes in.
Marriage & Family Counseling
Modern culture would have you believe that everyone has a soul mate; that romance is the most important part of a successful marriage; that your spouse is there to help you realize your potential; that marriage does not mean forever, but merely for now; and that starting over after a divorces is the best solution to seemingly intractable marriage issues. But these modern-day assumptions are wrong. This course shows marriage to be a glorious relationship that is also misunderstood and mysterious.
Resolving Marital Conflict
Marriages are under increasing strain these days, with over half of them ending in divorce. Conflict is seen as grounds to end a marriage, rather than an opportunity to grow closer to each other and to God. Students will study how to equip couples to understand the true nature of their conflicts and deal with them in a way that will actually help their marital fulfillment. They will learn how to guide couples identify their mutual dreams, put differences into perspective, understand each other’s underlying motives and work together as partners.
